Mesmerizing Shantiniketan: Revival Of Art

Shantiniketan is an abode of art and rich culture that every Indian should be proud of. Before the trip I had a vague idea about the place and the kind of people there. I thought it would be another casual trip and not that "happening".

I suggest everyone visiting Shantiniketan always prefer to travel around by a cab or else you would surely miss a lot of fun and a lot of time would be wasted. Bargain a cab for around 450 bucks and then be prepared for the beautiful sights to glide past your eyes.

                                                                                           Bolpur (Shantiniketan): Railway Station.

Everyone has heard bout the famous university of Shantiniketan and people often visit the campus but hang on there are more cool places to hop around. The campus gate are opened generally after 2:00 pm for the visitors therefore first look around other places of interest and at last visit the campus and eat your heart out at the university canteen.
I first visited a place named "Amar Kutir". It's a cool place with an awesome collection of handicrafts and art work. One can easily shop on various items, its very cheap. And guess what credit/debit cards are also accepted, a reason to smile for all the couples.

The place is awesome. You can go for shopping or just for merry making around. You get to have a typical picture of rural India.

As you move along the road from Shantiniketan university into the village, this board welcomes you to Amar Kutir, the traditional art and craft centre at Shantiniketan.

Amar Kutir has an wonderful collection of metal statutes, picture frames of deities, decorative pieces, ornaments, clothes and wooden handicrafts. Above all they are cheap and affordable.
